  Jul 9 2012: Interesting... I just realized Frau Merkel is also a great sales woman!!! She is in fact defending her county's best interests (which is HER job, anyway)... But she makes it in a way that makes believe she's defending noble objectives like fiscal responsability, etc... Congratulations Angela Merkel!!!

  That is a great idea!!! I am sure ordinary people on both sides are not enemies. I really hope tensions between both countries can be lowered and football matches can happen...

  Jun 6 2012: There is a classic book in Brazilian literature by João Guimarães Rosa. The book is called "Grande Sertão- Veredas"... in English: The Devil to Pay in the Backlands [Grande Sertão: Veredas]. Translation James L. Taylor e Harriet de Onís. New York: Knopf, 1963.
  
  In this book there is a phrase that says: "the devil in the street in the middle of the wind whirl" (o diabo na rua no meio do redemunho)... it's difficult to catch the devil but we must at least try...
  
  By the way... Guimarães Rosa uses about 50 synonyms of devil in the story...

  Jun 4 2012: Don... if you say that about Canada, one of the richest and most developed countries in the World, what can we say about the rest of the wolrd???

  Jun 1 2012: I also would like to learn how to edit movies... I did a course on it but I just don't have enough patience and practice to do it.

  Jun 1 2012: I'm trying to learn how not to react quickly to what happens around me. It's much better to wait a little bit, think about it for a while and THEN react (or not)...

  A comment on Conversation: Children's schools should have an "Imagination" period

  Jun 1 2012: You are absolutely right!!!
  Children are naturally imaginative but as time goes by they lose this way of being until they become quasi robots like most of us...
  I always see parents of small children at the kindergarten screaming: don’t do this!!! Don’t do that!!! Don’t jump!!! Don’t climb!!! Don’t get dirty!!!
  What kind of education are these parents giving their children???

  Jun 1 2012: I started to read maybe 5 or 6 books but finished none... too busy playing tennis and surfing the web...

  Jun 1 2012: That's very interesting. Game theory is being more and more used in analyzing complex situations. But, of course, it's not THE ONLY TOOL decision makers should use. Too good we have powerful computers to make this game theory possible...

  May 31 2012: Maybe you're right. The problem is: A provokes B, then B provokes A, and so on and so forth... We know how this kind of thing starts but sometimes we don't know how they end... do you think we can help???
