My TED Story

I was an attendee at my first TED: TEDxYouth@SLP and I really enjoyed it and liked it that I submitted my participation to the group and waited for an answer. 1 month later, the answer came and I was admitted into TEDxSLP

  A comment on Talk: Rita Pierson: Every kid needs a champion

  May 5 2013: Although I'm a student I've had the opportunity of being a teacher many times and the communication with the students is the most important thing.
  "Kids don't learn from people they don't like" has been in my head since the first time I saw this TED Talk and it really has a big meaning to me because, as a student, if you don't like someone it's horrible to be in his class and, in fact, to learn from him.
  Also increasing the self confidence of your students is something that most of the teachers don't do. Why? because they simply do their job just for the pay and not for the future of their students.
  I can honestly say that this Talk, and obviously Rita Pierson has changed my life as a student and also as a teacher in progress.

• A comment on Conversation: After learning a language -Why can't anyone go back and narrate what and how one experienced during the first year?

  Mar 3 2013: I can remember my first year after starting learning English. I'm Mexican. At the beginning it was kind of funny and hard because I was used to one vocabulary and starting learning another one was kind of tough. But I can honestly say that that year before starting learning English was the key one because everything's so exiting that it Flows with no problem. Well that was in my case.

• A comment on Conversation: Do right and wrong exist?

  Mar 3 2013: I think that there are good actions and not so good actions. It all depends in our experiences and the way we see our present world. But what I'm really convinced of is that everything we do in this life, everything, eventually will return to us in the exact way we did. For example if you give money to a friend because he really needs it that action will return to you maybe not as money given from a stranger but it will return.

  Feb 28 2013: You are right Kate I'm talking about irrational fear because obviously all of us would be frightened in the situation that George mentioned.

  Feb 28 2013: I think that this could be a great idea for eliminating corruption everywhere! Our world is "a mess" and we should do something if we're planning to leave the future generations a Nicer world.
