    May 19 2012: To answer your question literally. It seems very much that we marginalize people who've served felony time. I'm going to assume that you meant to ask a Should? question.

    The problem is that these days, we as Americans are listening to the "hard on crime" "Zero-Tolerance" bandwagons and we sign up and support laws which lead to things like a fellow in New Jersey drawing a life sentence for stealing a slice of pizza.

    What we need are changes both inside prison and without. We need changes in how we view people themselves as part of society rather than as cogs in a economic industrial clockwork.
