More About Me

I'm passionate about

Life long learning, freethinking and knowledge in general.

An idea worth spreading

The Atheist says: "God does not exist". The Agnostic says: "I do not know if God exists". I am an Ignostic and we say "I do not know what God is; hence I can not say that he does, or does not, exist".

Mar 25 2012: I think he might be onto something, but is it a significant driver for group selection? I am not so sure. Check out this blog post about other ways group selection might happen:

A comment on Talk: Susan Cain: The power of introverts

Mar 4 2012: Sometimes I am introvert and sometimes I am extrovert. This goes for many people I assume. Being only extrovert is a faulty as only being introvert. I think that today, in the western world, it is a bigger problem that people are NOT cultivating their introvert sides. Unique thoughts come from introversion. I think she has a good case. “TED-Live for bad-ass introverts” - http://www.thefreethinker.org/2012/03/ted-2012.html

  • A reply on Conversation: Should Drugs be Legalised?

Jun 18 2011: I am with you when you say that trafficers should be targeted rather than the heavy users. I do agree that heavy users should be treated instead of punished, however the practical implications regarding legalising use will be a increase in the general use. I do belive the fact that it is not legal does give a signal to young people making them more skeptical towards drug use.
Nothing good? Then I can not see how this can be a choice between to different evils...
  • A comment on Conversation: Should Drugs be Legalised?

Jun 4 2011: My questions are: first what do you mean by legalising drugs? Does it mean make it legal to use drugs? Produce drugs? Sell drugs? Or all of the above? And the second question is what good can come out of legalising druges in any of the above forms? What are the arguments for legalising drugs in any way? What good can come out of it?
  • A comment on Talk: Ian Dunbar on dog-friendly dog training

Aug 25 2008: Comment to Cat Thomson. I just have to comment on your comment about turning to science for understanding; the biggest misunderstanding in dog training today is that lots of people have a one-sided view of dog training based on behaviorism. Unless you are into dog training purley for teaching your dog sircus tricks, effective dog training for working dogs has to be based on knowledge from sciences like classical ethology, biology, medisin and neuroscience. By this I do not say that behaviorism should not be a part of dog traing, however its role is highly overestimated.
When Dunbar used the parent - kid example he makes the big mistake of insinuating that one can think in terms of human pshycology when working with dogs.
