May 5 2012: Future crime can be reduced through programs whose costs are less than their benefits. See my conversation on that topic. When a place becomes among the a) most violent and b) most *imprisoned places on earth, while also being c) very economically unequal, one could ask if we are doing enough in the area of prevention, when evidently effective long term prevention programs have been identified. That's the top priority.
May 5 2012: I give the speaker credit for broaching the problem of Abu Ghrab, and the theme of how systems and policies played a role. This matter is explored in great length in the book called "Chain of Command". Both the presenter and the author deserve credit for trying to shed light on this.
