An idea worth spreading

Kaitlyn lived in Michigan for 10 years until she moved to Germany. Now a Grade Six student at Bonn International School, she is interested the topic of bullying and conflict resolution skills. She has explored different programs that address bullying and conflict resolution using peer support. She will talk about a program she is hoping to help establish in her community. She wants to spread her ideas not only to Bonn International School, but also to schools around the world.

My TED Story

My teacher was passionate about TED, and after he became a TEDx organizer, he was very interested in getting the students involved too! I did my first TED talk on May 18th 2012, and I am looking into organizing another event in May 2013!

  May 31 2012: In my school we learned about taking action. We looked at a website called Action Tracker. Anyone can submit an action under a category, for example, Travel Better, Include Everyone, Use Your Money for Good, etc. The URL is:

  May 31 2012: I learned from my teacher that you can do anything if you set your mind to it! If you have a great idea and you tell someone, you can and should put your idea in to action! Don't doubt yourself! You can do amazing things! I believe in you! Now go be the best person you can be!!!

  I think that the Creative Minds website is perfect for inspiring kids to make art! Do you have any ideas about how to be creative in ways other than art?

  May 30 2012: I agree that schools should have an imagination period! I am going in to 6th grade and I get to choose my classes, and I would definitely choose "Imagination" for one of them! The class would be about our ideas instead of Isaac Newton's! I would even like to teach the class! I think if I had a whole 55 minutes to imagine and spread my ideas I would even kiss my teacher's shoes! But you don't have to have a teacher... I have so many ideas going on in my head right now! This is a great idea!!!!! I absolutely LOVE it!!! Great idea!

  May 19 2012: I did a project in school where I studied Peace & Conflict, and I spoke about my action yesterday for a TEDxYouth event at my school!
