The perfume pill is a cool idea, but young women and men already smell great. Body chemistry is unpredictable as well as widely varied. It could get disastrous so easily! Reek for a week?
A reply on Talk: Bart Knols: Cheese, dogs and a pill to kill mosquitoes and end malaria
Where ever you are, there are probably mosquito controls in place. Even if they aren't used every year they are enough of a public health threat, and I mean a very serious one, to be in reserve in most places. If they aren't, there's no people or no money.
Malaria is a tip of an iceberg. West Nile, Yellow Fever, assorted other fevers, things we've vacinated for for so long I forget the list. Is prion disease blood born? Mosquitos can spread it. (mad cow) You saw a lecture on malaria in Africa. What mosquitos spread is a long list. Europe, Canada, All the Americas... No place on earth is exempt.

Yeah, malaria in Africa. But malaria could come back in the USA, the South and Central Americas, any time when people start going bleeding heart liberal for a virulent creature that spreads death and does nothing else! Nothing Else. A mosquito is a straight out parasite designed to spread disease. A dinosaur remnant that acts like Giegers' Alien.
West Nile Virus. We've had a disastrous epidemic of it. Recently. See above. Do you want that in your town/city/country? Where ever you are there's anti mosquito control even if you don't pay attention.

Even worse, West Nile went all out epidemic in a central area of Louisiana about fifteen years ago in Point Coupee Parish. (County to you Americans). Human deaths due to the encephaletic form were common and horrible! The virus seems to only kill horses by the encephalitic form and listening to a whole stable suddenly begin to screaam in agony at three AM? These were my children, my pets, my friends! And I had to wait until dawn to go out with a 9mm handgun because a rifle in a horse box doesn't work. The vets couldn't come for sixty hours, but the National Guard could come help with bodies.
You go shoot your eight screaming, stark mad children in the head and see if No Mosquitos makes sense? And all the other farm animals but my horses were the soul twister. There's no environmental fallout. Mosquitos only spread Death! And several million in losses to the business.
In 2005 I had W Nile Fever while evacing New Orleans. A lot of people did, very ill. Wonder why people stayed? A lot was edited out of the news coverage. Mosquitos have no redeeming place except to kill off populations. I prefer good available Birth Control to death by horrible illness. And there was an equine vaccine in one year. Still no horses in Pointe Coupee.
A comment on Conversation: Children's schools should have an "Imagination" period
Kids don't understand Big World. You obliquely propose high school assignments here. Around 15 to 16 years old. The age of ruining that ability is about two to twelves years.
I taught at that school as well as attending it. Metairie Park Country Day School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Its been ruined by social climbing parents last I saw, but I've been trained from both ends. This is how it works.
Keep your mouths shut.
From the bureaucracy leaning posting I see here, you all say too many words. "Oh, a picture of a tree!" you cry in glee! Well your seven year old drew a dog. Smackdown! And he just learned to conform or else. They're quick little studies.
Try "Tell me about your picture?" Your young ones personality might have a chance if s/he gets a safe space to take risks, where s/he is in control, or better yet- there is no control. Parents, I swear! The biggest impediments to educating your kid. You don't want to do Maths with 'em, just NEVER give them a seconds space to fail!
Well, that's what's needed. A safe space to fail. With out you in the way. I mean mess up in Art class, or give a bad performance in Pretend. (Lower school for theatre.) No criticism, prompting, or bitching about colors on the walls. All that rote math, grammer, history, anybody can do that. Go to town. But if they find it hateful, ask what you're doing wrong first.
You think the arts aren't important? Where do you think children learn to think abstractly for the first time? Solve problems? Build the Palace to use through life? And we let them paint all over the walls and doors so maybe they won't at home, provoking you into a demonstration that the stage set called home is more important than their amazing world of possibilities. Smackdown II.

You aren't a doctor. Or even living in the Eighties yet. Do you think women come with metallic bronze eyelids naturally too? Or peoples hair just grows in stylish neat arrangements?
If you can't say something nice about people who are already persecuted as freaks then don't say anything please. Implying she's a fake for an obvious cosmetic device from a drugstore is rather catty.
Edit; Called a high school friend who is White! along with seven siblings! Yes, all albinism, yes, the eyes look bright blue- but aren't ? Explanation went over my head. I was dumbstruck by having eight kids with albinism out of eight kids! We all thought they were Vikings. You don't tease a gang of eight tall strong gorgeous kids.
And white tigers are albinism- with black stripes. Not zero pigmentation.

Although the speaker calling the medical proffession crazy for turning humans into Specimens... Yeah, that's as pretty unbalanced and crazy suits it fine. Pathological behaviors don't get a bye for being institutionalized.
