If you could give your twenty-year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be? Why?
I just turned 25, yay! If I could have told myself something 5 years ago, this is going to sound ridiculous, but it would have been to take better notes. Really. I went through college constantly hearing about how whatever job I got would initially be way below my level and would bore me. Not the case! There is so much information now I recall hearing, but not enough to be of any real assistance. Don't discount anything! Also, don't be afraid to stay in a few Friday nights to do what needs doing, the little regrets of jobs not properly done never really go away, and there will be other Friday nights.

Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work
I think he does touch on the paradigm in his opening statements, when he talks about the constant re-enforcement of the model of happiness following success. It should alarm you that happiness is something we need to train ourselves to, but is it so surprising? We are trained to be unhappy our entire lives living in modern culture. Why? Unhappiness sells. And it's everywhere, the message is constantly "You're not rich enough, beautiful enough, stylish enough, successful enough, having enough fun." It always appears that happiness is on the other side. This, to me, seems quite the opposite. True happiness is an interior condition. It is a choice. I don't see how stubbornly remaining suspicious and discontent serves anyone. It is one thing to be blind, sure. But I think we can be well aware of our present situation and at the same time not let it become an undue burden while we forever chase the carrot.
