  • A comment on Conversation: which is better? 'A well planned life where you live acording to your plans' or 'a sponatneous life driven by instincts'?

Mar 27 2012: I do not understand the dichotomy. Is the choice really only between "planning" and following "instincts"? Why so black/white? Do we ever know enough to plan our lives? How do you then facilitate change, unforeseeable events (positive or negative), changing one's own personality, etcetera? Nothing is static, everything is always in change. Look at the rise of China, for example, or the rise and decline of characters.

    What about intuition?
About seeing the signs and adjusting course?
    About learning and evolving?

Sometimes people have to radically down their tools, and go into the forests (literally or as a way of speech) to find themselves, and what it is their souls really aspire.

Living on instinct or living on intellect simply ignore the complexities of life.
