Feb 10 2013: Here are few of my observations, These are all my personal opinions gathered from my own experience. I dont have any studies to claim them, so it may seem unscientific to take some serious note of them... :) Also there are individual differences so a gross generalization is a difficult task-
The upcoming generation of teens is cognitively superior than their parents during their teenage. It's mainly because of the kind of exposure they get during early age with the help of technology. They want everything to be done quickly and arent much willing to be patient to get something. They will fastly move on to something else in case of failure in one task as there are more choices available today than old times. So lack of persistence can be easily observed among them. They are becoming more individualistic and less dependent on their parents. At the same time, they are much open towards any change which is rationally acceptable to them. Todays teens are less prejudiced towards other communities and readily mix with people from different groups without much apprehensions. The number of pregnancies during teenage are rising rapidly, it reflects the favourable attitude of teenagers towards their instinctual behavior by denying the societal pressure. They are also more self centered.
Feb 10 2013: Hmmm... good point. I think, in case your abilities are exceeding the skills required to pursue your passion, you might still enjoy it. In this case, almost every time you will be able to meet the demands and enjoy the success of completing the task. But it depends on your personality too. Few people are content in performing routine tasks, whereas others demand new and challenging situations. If you are from second category then you might soon get bored with the passion thats not presenting any challenges for you. Most of us have a tendency to improve ourselves, to move towards something bigger than what we have today. In such cases as long as your passion fulfills your growth orientation you should continue to enjoy it...
Feb 10 2013: I believe that we cant compromise with justice and freedom at the cost of development. People will still remain unhappy in the restricted environment inspite of providing solutions for their problems. When you compare between India and China, China has only 55 ethnic groups among which Han Chinese dominate with 91% share of total population. But in India there are more than 2000 ethnic groups. Clearly the ethnic and cultural diversity is greater in case of India. Hence solutions provided by some communist government in India will be unacceptable to a large section of population most of the times. Democracy is the best way for us, just we need to focus on making it work more efficiently...
Feb 10 2013: According to me passion is extreme madness and liking towards something. The object and level of your passion depends upon your personality, experiences from past and available opportunities. You have to provide constant food to keep that passion ignited. For that keep meeting people who follow similar passion, read more information about it. Try to know successful examples in your area of passion. At the same time know about your capabilities and try to match them with the requirements needed to pursue your passion. A SWOT analysis is necessary in your respective area of passion. Focus more on strengths and feel good about yourself for following what you really want. Hold your nerves during hard times and keep working for the enjoyment received by following your passion...
Feb 10 2013: Although technology has changed our life positively in many cases, we arent always conscious enough to use it wisely . Most of us look at the immediate benefits and rewards brought by the technology and often neglect long term consequences of using it. May it be use of an atom bomb or our daily use the electricity, we dont give much consideration to the damage done to the natural resources while using the technology. The use of technology mainly brings changes in external environment as well as it affects the lifestyle of human beings.
Few of the studies by Mental Health Organisations indicate that the cases of depression are on the rise leading to the increasing feeling of loneliness among people. It's mainly due to the reduction in time spent in social activities with people surrounding us and inability to cope up with rapid changes brought by technology in our lives. It's really surprising to notice that people are feeling lonely inspite of a rapidly growing population and increasing opportunities provided by technology to communicate. It has taken thousands of years for humans to evolve the way we are at the moment. So it's not always possible for humans to cope up with the technological changes.
Feb 3 2013: To bring out any significant change, funds are required... However more focus should be given on training local people to solve their own issues. It can be done through use of media like radios wherever possible. Providing them vocational education and create relevant opportunities for work is also necessary. The study of available local resources and people's present skill set is required for that. Community leaders can play the most important role in transformation. Involve people from ground level during the planning process.
