who is right, free will or determinism. ?
My understanding is ------Determinism is to be understood in the sense that one does not have full control over events that take place... in that sense whatever happens can be said to be destined or predetermined. Free Will is to be understood in the sense that I have the freedom to react, to any event, in a number of different ways, and the final choice that is made is always mine. It is of course possible that these ‘free choices’ I make will probably influence future events over which I supposedly have “little control”.

Remote control killing of humans. Is there any way we can justify it?
“remote control killing of humans...?” somehow the question appears to imply as if (1) what is critical is the means employed for killing, and (2) that the value of ‘life’, or meaningless termination of it is, more distressing, traumatic and impactful, for one particular species viz. humans, over all others. Shouldn’t the real question be is there ever a real justification for destroying life?

What is your favourite quote and why?
"If all insects were to disappear from the earth, within 50 years all forms of life on earth would end. If on the other hand, all human beings disappeared from the earth, within 50 years all forms of life on earth would flourish! "– Jonas Salk something to think about!
