May 27 2012: it would be easier to give suggestions if you had mentioned what is distracting you in your work. Is it your Cell Phone? Facebook? Or the people in your Office?
May 14 2012: I don't know what exactly you mean when you say "Changed your life"
I like the Diary sort of Novel "The Dangling Man" by Sir Saul Bellow
When you read it, you get completely immersed into the words and Imagination
But when I close the book, I am in my own world again. So, literally, no change for me.
May 14 2012: Hello Stuart.
"Creativity is everywhere". Thanks for that awesome thought.
But still, I believe, giving example of dancing, arts has quite limited amount of knowledge to offer. We can use that knowledge to develop our personality, and to some extent - our Creativity. But Science is vast - and we cannot deny the fact that we advanced throughout the history because we used Science. We are creative because we are Scientific.
It's just what was in my view, I didn't mean to nitpick Arts and overshadow its wonders.
May 12 2012: True. Schools should be the place where we learn to think, not think to learn. The purpose behind education is not just learning - but also to make you able to trace your learning. Thanks
May 12 2012: Rather than letting students freely imagine the subject matter, I think schools should help Children improve their imagination. You know, students hardly concentrate on the teacher who is teaching right in front of them. This, of course is lack of willingness, or I say, Lack of Imagination. If students can Imagine things clearly, that would improve their critical thinking ability and when they think deep, they'll engage more. But, willingness is important.
For your case, rather than taking a separate class of imagination, I think schools can let children to self study a fresh topic and then let them share what they have understood - maybe by giving presentations or using illustrations. This, thus shall improve their understanding, their critical reading skills and of couse, their Imagination.
Apr 20 2012: With ever expanding information on the web, search engines have become a necessity. Roughly 60% of the people have set their home page to Google which stands in the acme of Web Search Service. Talking about a perfect search engine, you may consider the following features:
> Has some sort of Intelligence installed so it can understand search queries beyond the words. For example, if people search for "watch songs of LMFAO" the search engine can be intelligent enough to list websites that allow watching LMFAO songs rather than searching for the tags in web pages.
> Combine Web, Image, Video and Audio search. If people want to search Images, they can simply type "%Images>> Flood" rather that opening a separate page.
> Preview of the Webpage in Search results is not necessary, you may include part of content of web page in search results.
> Take time to name your search engine. The more popular the name, the more popular will be your search engine.
