May 24 2013: The "MOST" form is what I suggest. It's legally binding and you don't put the decision in family members hands. I know. I have screwed it up twice. I am health care proxy for two family members and couldn't enforce their wishes when the opportunity arise. I have been a volunteer EMT for 40 years and have seen many people depart. But when that person is close to you, It's a whole another ball game. "File of Life" is a good packet for patient information. Very inspiring talk.

Feb 27 2013: Most of the world hates the U.S.A. because of it's appetite for the planets resources. We have so far consumed more of it's resources than the rest of the planets population. Two other talks worth watching are; James Glattfeld, Who Controls The World and Garth Lenz, The True Cost of Oil. At one time the only man mad structure that could be seen from space was the Great Wall China. Now holding ponds in Alberta, Canada join the list. One such run off would cover the space of Lake Erie with 1 foot of toxin. Eventually we will joined the rest of the planet and hate ourselves.

A comment on Talk: Israel and Iran: A love story?

Dec 22 2012: My trip to China 15 years ago showed me that it's the politicians dividing the world not the citizens. People would just like to live their lives out uninterrupted by the outside world.

Oct 15 2012: I tend to lean towards Ruby Wax. Our brains are not built for this. Are the autistic the human brain for an ever changing, disconnected emotional world? As described a possible genetic mutation of evolution.

A comment on Talk: Ruby Wax: What's so funny about mental illness?

Oct 12 2012: Ruby didn't even have to " talk nerdy to us ". She has summed up many other Ted talks on the impact of the electronic age on our social behavior. That damn anticipation of the next text message. Kids should not be allowed cell phones until they're 16.
  • A comment on Talk: E.O. Wilson: Advice to young scientists

Jun 30 2012: Our higher learning institutions know that we are in-trouble with the rest of the world in competing for grass roots intellect. After listening to Nirmalya Kumar: India's Invisible Innovation, the statistics that could show the ratio between U.S. population and intellect, reflect the doom for our global domination. China and India just have more population to cultivate. I guess that there is not much we can do about it. We can only steal their best for so long. And as long as we let our youth walk around with their heads up their...... cell phones, we really can not expect any other out come.
