About Me

Born in Alytus, Lithuania. Earned MBA from Kaunas University of Technology. Won a green card in the lottery (yes, there is a lottery for that!) and relocated to USA. Finance and business management professional on the move, looking for a more emotionally rewarding occupation after seven years of trading career. I am someone who strives on challenge. Be it skydiving, running a marathon or climbing mountain Kilimanjaro - I want to experience it at least once.

Sep 26 2012: I have discovered Antony's work about a month ago while visiting Rio de Janeiro. Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil had some of his works. I was captivated by his Amazonian field. Was sitting and staring at the room filled with clay figures for good 20 minutes. What a coincidence to find this video on TED just after I got back from Brazil! I feel sorry I didn't know about this artist before.

A comment on Talk: Tristram Stuart: The global food waste scandal

Sep 26 2012: Decade ago I had a part-time job in a catering company. I was shocked to see how much food was being wasted at catered events. I was even more shocked to see how disrespectful kids and teenagers were to food: playing with the food, throwing it around. The fact that the parents were "not noticing" their behavior was very painful to witness.
I believe food waste is happening because people are spoiled: food is cheap, always available and people take it for granted.
On the other hand if I was served bad quality meal at a restaurant, I would not eat it or take it home. So I think at some level food waste could be related to food quality.
I believe that businesses dealing with food (restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, catering companies, etc.) should be made accountable for their food waste. To me If business has a lot of food waste it means either food quality is bad or they have problems managing their supply process.

A comment on Talk: Pranav Mistry: The thrilling potential of SixthSense technology

Sep 26 2012: Pranav is a genius for sure. But the fact that he understands his genius doesn't belong to him and wants to make his technology available for masses makes him the most admirable and respected genius.
