About Me

When I was a young boy, I spent most of my time watching cartoons; saturday mornings, Looney Tunes, Disney. As I grew up I continued watching and learning about animation. I think every textbook I used left me with a corner flipbook animation.

As I got older and started watching movies, I realized the joy of the story. And have voraciously consumed movies and animation of all sorts.

When it came time to start being an adult and get a job, I knew that animation was where I was supposed to be. I have been working as an animator since then, as both a traditional hand-drawn animator, and a cg animator using many different programs.

I have had a very fortunate career. I've animated some great characters like Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog. My animated short, ‘Zombies Vs. Vampires’, won the audience award at the 2010 Miami International Film Festival.

I am a director with a volunteer organization called the Inkwell Foundation. We are a group of animators, illustrators and cartoonists that visit children that are in hospitals such as Ronald McDonald House and draw with them.

I also like to spend time with my wonderful wife and rock-climb.

An idea worth spreading

We can make the world a better place through stories that illuminate, whether they be happy or sad, funny or heartbreaking.

Talk to me about

animation, cartoons, art, movies, stories, learning, teaching and laughing.

People don't know that I'm good at

pointless trivia facts.

My TED Story

Several years ago I watched my first TED talk. I was fascinated and continued to watch and learn. One of my favorites is Sunni Brown's Doodler's Unite, because I am an avid doodler. Late last year I was asked to work on a project for TED and jumped at the opportunity. It an excellent combination of my interests.
