A comment on Conversation: Time is the only thing we are hurrying

Feb 14 2012: Yes, Tony, I think much of what you say is very true and the examples you give good- and horrific in the case of the cow.
We REALLY need to slow down and make better decisions instead of more and faster.
A comment on Conversation: Let's make wisdom vogue; a call for messengers.

Feb 14 2012: I always love the Burke quote you refer to last line. Yes, this is really interesting though the question to me is 'what is wisdom'? I don't know if I'd start with the old - certainly they have some kinds of wisdom - but what is their knowledge reference? The young have much wisdom to me too- we whip out lots of good traits with the imposition on the young of what you call 'superficial America' - I'm from UK where we have similar issues so I'd like to substitute 'superficial ruling class culture' or similar! Lovely post and thoughts. I think we've a chance with the Internet, TED is a great thing. Hugs, D.
