About Me

I'm a serial thoughtbug, innovation groupee and -isms enthusiast... I like getting involved in realizing ideas, creating channels for dialogue and testing out smart solutions for enterprises and individuals. During the day and most parts of the night, I'm a generalist executive recruiter, I love my job (usually translated by my peers as passion bordering obsession and workaholism)... Luckily, I balance things out by moonlighting as a superhero in mostly solipsistic adventures of the grandest nature.

  • A comment on Conversation: Is TED a scam?

    Dec 20 2012: Think TED's a scam.

Hangs out in TED because of the discussions.

Loves conversations and ideas and innovations.

    TED is a pigheaded prop.

Funny thread, nice to see some troll humor here every now and then.
  • A comment on Conversation: Should the use of social neworks be banned at work?

Nov 29 2012: Social Networks go way beyond facebook and twitter both in terms of platform and function... I don't think a company should ban them but regulation is necessary to ensure that personal consumption is at a reasonable level...

Besides, companies are increasingly reliant on these networks for branding, marketing, and engaging their consumers... recent studies have shown that having the presence of employees in the social media can help your business (providing they use it responsibly) hence the emergence of Social Media training for staff...

As a recruiter, Social Networks are part of my job: as a recruitment, research and marketing tool... in fact, not being on it or knowing how to master the use of it is a big personal no-no.

A reply on Conversation: What is your perception of people with gender identity issues (transgendered), and has it changed in the last 5 years?

Nov 29 2012: The unease is something that I feel you wouldn't or shouldn't receive criticism for, in fact, I think that I somewhat understand where you're coming from and I'm gay btw. You' might be surprised to find that most transgendered folks are really normal and not extreme at all, they just identify themselves as the opposite sex bec. that's how they see their innerselves. What I would recommend is that it might make you feel more comfortable if you try to engage a trans or maybe read up on the subject... It's all about gaining more insight I think.

Btw, being a transgender may or may not involve actually doing a sex change... Some of my friends do ID themselves as trans but when asked if they'll ever take a biological leap, a lot of them are just comfortable as is. :)
  • A comment on Conversation: What do you do for a living?

Nov 29 2012: 1. I help people find what they can do and make a living...
    2. If I do what I do right, I bring the right people together
  • A comment on Conversation: What's that one book, movie or work of the human imagination that will make a thinking person think more deeply?

Nov 12 2012: When I came across Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami it had a profound effect on me and left me pondering post the last page... Other than that, I'd go with HHG2G trilogy, Plato's Republic, Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance... for a light but soulful read I'll go with the popularized Alchemist of Coelho...

Movies: Dogville by Lars for a good mental stir and Inception for someone who wants something commercial but thought-proving (in a way) as well eternal sunshine and little ms. sunshine.

Nov 12 2012: I'd be glad to help you out if you want an Asian voice... I'm from the Philippines but working in Riyadh as a consultant...

A comment on Conversation: Debate: Is corruption a moral or a legal issue?

Nov 12 2012: Law is fundamentally grounded on moral grounds/ethical principles... It's very nature is studied through philosophy or is it jurisprudence. Hence I think that ultimately, corruption ought to be seen as a moral issue that requires lawful repercussions to chastise and maintain ethical foundations of a society.
