May 4 2012: I would be interested in seeing if there were any observable evidence of this. Questioning people who may be trying to 'help the experiment' isn't always the best source of data.
May 4 2012: I'm also concerned with the apparent conflation of correlation and causality. Showing that people who give are happier may also be a result of their general happiness at being well off enough to be able to afford giving.
There is also an implication that the hapiness increase is independent of actual value. The best solutoin would seem to be to donate frequently to 'leave-a-penny' dishes near the cash register.
Jan 31 2012: Building cities is not natureUsing computers is not natureUtilizing agriculture is not naturePoetry, music, painting and sculpture are not natureNature is eating raw what you can hunt or forrage and burrowing into a den. For the most part, a natural existence sucks. I like to go visit it every now and then, but by and large I prefer civilization. I enjoy a lot of benefits from living in an environment manipulated in an unnatural way. I don't have a problem with gengeneering, cloning, IVF, DNA sequencing or stem cell research. Knowledge about nature and the skill to manipulate natural systems have benefited humanity since we started walking upright.
Jan 30 2012: So in your system having money in the bank would be taxed? Not just the income on it, but the actual deposit? Why on earth would I want to keep my money in a US bank?
Jan 28 2012: If you are taking action to cause something that isn't yours to be destroyed or malfunction what better term would you suggest than "attack"? Violate? Vandalize? Destroy? In the end, they all end up meaning something like attack anyway.
If you want to protest start a blog, or gather signatures online. If you are hacking into something that isn't yours or intentionally misuing equipment to break someone elses system then it's an attack.
Jan 28 2012: I'd certainly try it. Depending on the tast and texture I may switch. This would be an economic and health decision for me, not an ethical one.

Are there any indications that being poorer than someone in the same state or nation causes poorer health?
I would assume that the rich try to get the best health care, I know I would if I were rich. That should give them a higher life expectancy.

How about this... don't buy from the rich.
A comment on Conversation: Why do we consider groups motivated by protest to be attackers?
