Sheryl Sandberg: Why we have too few women leaders
Another reason, which is the point of the Ted Talk, was in agreement with your statement. Women need to believe in themselves to do it. One should recognize their challenges though. Historically women have been at a disadvantage (unable to vote, laws allowing spouse-rape, books published and taught about their inferiority). This shouldn't be ignored, as it is ingrained in our society and that is proven when a woman says 'women are insufficient'. Conquest these prejudices, do not spread them to more women.

Sheryl Sandberg: Why we have too few women leaders
The reason for a small number of women leaders could be that men believe they do not exert all possible efforts. Men may believe they are insufficient for their task. Men may believe women are frustrated by numerous biased views. If men believe this, they will be less likely to hire women or recognize their efforts. I believe we should all be frustrated by bias views.

Sandra Aamodt: Why dieting doesn't usually work
"Even at its best, dieting is a waste of time and energy. It takes will power which you could be using to help your kids with their homework, or to finish that important work project, and because will power is limited, any strategy that relies on its consistent application is pretty much guaranteed to eventually fail you when your attention moves on to something else." Wow great quote there! Love the Talk there is much to think about. Dieting ruled my life, as did eating habits and weight gain. I never had a full life until I gave up on controlling those things. I never lost weight, and still am the same weight, but my perception about the weight changed. Happy times :D
