May 11 2012: you are awesome!
Means end displacement is the biggest problem..if we get our values and goals right..and then use rights means...we will get at right place...

  • A comment on Talk: Paul Conneally: Digital humanitarianism

Feb 23 2012: We need technology as a core organizational principle! Very true!
However, at the same time we need a real interface between real and virtual world of internet where when someone click to help, there is some real one actually forwarding her hand for help.

A comment on Talk: Daniel Goleman on compassion

Feb 18 2012: the problem which points to another perspective is that people tend to exploit this inherently compassionate behavior of humans. And soon, after seeing so many "helpless" people, to save ourself from the frustration from not being able to help all of them out..our defense mechanism make us to ignore those. A community based approach would probably be more effective. We want to help but we also want to make sure that it make a difference in reality and not just becomes the way of life. Exploitation and commercialization of simple human traits like trust and compassion is the tragedy of modern urban culture.
  • A comment on Talk: Drew Dudley: Everyday leadership

Feb 18 2012: wow...very inspiring and motivating. Our small actions can have butterfly effect on people in both positive and negative way. Such experiences are even more critical for children and serve as enabling or disabling experience for a particular quality, direction or trait. We should cherish and value such small deeds and also never forget to thanks those who made a difference in our life, no matter how small it be.
Thanks for such a wonderful talk.

  • A reply on Talk: Alain de Botton: Atheism 2.0

Jan 17 2012: that would be a very good thing actually! we will get best of both in each! This also nullifies the popular misconception that believers and atheists are antagonistic.
  • A comment on Talk: Alain de Botton: Atheism 2.0

Jan 17 2012: Awesome! This is exactly what I think! Atheism is not anti-theism, its just absence of dogma but not rejecting the utility of religion! its like just going back to the basics. religion originated with culture then turned into scripture..and now..when we are trying to understand it again..instead of blindly following the dogma..we are getting closer to the "righter" or "purer" and "rational" form of religion.
Religion was supposed to be the "means" for having a good life...but some selfish people turned it the other way round and people got confused and we started "living" (mostly dying and killing) for religion (that too in the name of God) and made it an "end" rather than "means".
This means-end reversal can be corrected with atheism 2.0
Pure rationalism is boring...colorless. Culture and art fill life into it. Very simple example, its difficult to follow the advice of a doctor to avoid junk food or do exercise...but people walk miles on pilgrimage and stay hungry for days for religious festivals. People donate billions in religious institutions but otherwise a common man is not so generous.
Religion certainly not a thing to reject but to reform. We NEED faith and religion and we want a GOD to be
there for us..even if we are atheist and our God is not a deity but a force inside subatomic particles.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful lecture/Sermon :)

P.S. : (my idea of God)

A comment on Talk: Tyler Cowen: Be suspicious of stories

Jan 17 2012: wow....getting out of bed story is so true! we create a story of our life and limit ourself in the self created boundaries....like we keep saying,,,,i can't do that...or..i have to do this..and so on.....because we are stuck in our story! stories affect our unconscious..and our behavior too.
    very insightful speech. Thanks Man!
