More About Me

I'm passionate about

Collaboration across all areas of human life

An idea worth spreading

Collaborative society in all it's aspects, government, religious, artistic, scientific, human social evolution.

Talk to me about

What the problems that face us as a human family are and how we solve them together.

My TED Story

I first found out about TED years ago and have been enjoying my education from the contributors to TED. TED is the best place I have found yet for ideas to procreate and disseminate through society and I am doing what I can to contribute. Someday I would like to host a TED event in Minneapolis and (bigger dream) actually be invited to speak at a TED event when I have something to offer!

A comment on Conversation: How much of a right do students have to questioning and independent thinking?

Jan 13 2013: IMO Students have the right to question everything, teachers have the responsibility to answer everything about the subject and any related subjects being taught (to the best of their ability).

There is no such thing as learning without questions and there is no thing above questioning. This is the root of all understanding, being able (or unable) to answer questions. Questions can teach the teacher as much as the student.

So all things considered I consider it more of a responsibility (to yourself and for society) for a student to question.

    Great topic!
  • A comment on Conversation: What are you willing to do to make the world a better place?

Jan 12 2013: That is awesome Colleen! Thank you for doing so much in so many ways to make a difference!
  • A comment on Conversation: What are you willing to do to make the world a better place?

Jan 5 2013: I want "Ninja Timelord" or maybe "Time and Space are a State of Mind" on mine :)

I have pondered that point but regardless choose to call everything and all that is "god" that way unless reality/existence/life is nothing but an illusion "god" still exists and I still get to enjoy that thought!

Jan 5 2013: Awesome Greg, for sure the little things matter as much as the big ones (big ones are just lots of little ones anyway!). I look at my own life in a similar way, all those daily things I do privately and publicly are either better or worse for one and all and I try to make them better.

If you ever get the desire to exchange those ideas and questions in another format, please consider http://www.wesolver.org as a place to do that, we need everything you have to offer.
  • A reply on Conversation: What are you willing to do to make the world a better place?

Jan 5 2013: Then I would argue you are doing an awful lot to make the world a better place. You are doing something active by demonstrating those virtues, they are actions, not just non-actions!

If god exists we must all be part of god and so of course all the things that are possible for god are possible for us, unfortunately that means ALL things, not just the good ones so your expressions and acts of goodness is god in the world being good. Thanks for that!

A comment on Conversation: What can governments do to end poverty in their countries? Is a solution possible under capitalism?

Jan 5 2013: You are right, those in positions of power will not be willing to subjugate themselves to the will of the people, the cool thing is that they never have and yet the world has changed, human rights were invented, unions created themselves, democracies exist in greater numbers on a global scale (in many flavors) than have ever existed in history.

Always these changes start with a small group of dedicated individuals forming a team to get something done and then they do it. One team learns from another and the teams grow and their impact multiplies over time.

The world is a better place (by any measure I can imagine) moment by moment and century by century ONLY because of the unknown, unsung people who made those changes. They never asked permission and they never apologized, they just did stuff until it worked.

    Thanks for the thumbs up!
  • A comment on Conversation: What are you willing to do to make the world a better place?

Jan 4 2013: Awesome! If everyone felt the same the (human) world would change in a generation at an incredibly.

Glad to know you are out there, a good friend of mine would sum it up in a very similar way.
  • A comment on Conversation: Does comparative advantage mean a one-world economy would be less efficient?

Jan 4 2013: I agree that is what national (or any ) boundary does in general. That does not mean it cannot be changed (even on a global scale).
  • A comment on Talk: Ivan Krastev: Can democracy exist without trust?

Jan 4 2013: No it cannot, which is why it must be of the people, by the people and for the people before democracy in a new and improved form becomes the government of all human beings.
