Our governments are feeding us propaganda. We are told to be weary of someone in places we have not travelled to or know little about. Do we want to live this way? Do we still need government? Can the human race embrace, encourage, love and nurture itself without an overseer?

• A comment on Conversation: Food Rationing would be more effective than using Supply and Demand.

  Jan 8 2012: The idea of food rationing in not new. There have been varied past cultures who doled out food as per need. In the modern world, food has become an commodity and an investment and may not always have the nutrional value we would like. Globally we can feed even more than the current population though it is not in the best interest politically or for business. If there were responsible people heading this idea, there may be less famine and poverty.

• A reply on Conversation: As a trilingual or bilingual, what role does language play in the creation of your identity? Which language do you think in?

  Jan 8 2012: English being the newest of spoken languages, is the most spoken global language and is used practically in almost every application daily, be it in business, communication, medicine ect... I cannot see how what we have learnt, in whichever languages of instruction, has not influenced our growth, identity, or how we express our thoughts and ideas

• A comment on Conversation: As a trilingual or bilingual, what role does language play in the creation of your identity? Which language do you think in?

  Jan 8 2012: As a bilingual speaker (French/English), I find my thoughts and ideas are influenced by either where I lve and in which language or context these were brought forth. Living in an English culture and influenced by european upbringing and education is often a challenge when relating your thoughts as an individual, to others who have not travelled or experienced other cultures.
