My TED Story

I discovered the TED website through StumbleUpon.com. I was hooked after the first two videos I saw. One was about reversing the desertification in Africa and the other was concerning the psychology behind the prison guard scandal in Afghanistan. After that I began to frequently return to TED to watch musical concerts.

  Jan 13 2012: I really hope to check this book out soon. Wiki called it the first "coming of age" novel and that intrigues me very much. Thank you for your for this suggestion!

  Jan 13 2012: Oh that's interesting, I did not realize that the television show was based on a series of novels. I have not seen the show, nor have I read the books, but it is very inspiring to realize that literature is still thriving in America. It mostly serves as a jumping off point for Hollywood vultures to wet their beaks on the blood of the writers, but on the bright side at least the written word is still having an impact on our society, albeit from behind the stage curtain. It says on you profile that you are a writer Jonathan, what kind of writer are you?
  
  P.S. If you are looking for some free essays on an e-reader, I got several of Nietzsche's works, such as "Beyond Good and Evil," on my Kindle for free. Good luck and thank you for responding.

  A comment on Conversation: A Week of your life in 2012, seven days to write your ideas, inspirations, goals while been part of a 3000 miles Journey... Interested?

  Dec 16 2011: I would probably try to record this experience itself in the form of a book. The whole idea has staggering potential . Think about the characters and the adventure and everything else that is awesome and inspiring! It would be a pilgrimage to stimulate our spirits and unsheathe the greatest parts of our souls that are left latent in a modern world. Showing ourselves for better or worse across the face of Mother Earth. Each person is unique but our goal would be common. It is the road of the journey that is the true story, not the finish line!

  Dec 16 2011: Wow I can imagine that is difficult. Even more so because nostalgia only has a single cure. How long has it been since you visited?

  Dec 16 2011: I would like to witness the Library of Alexandria in flames.
  
  I'm not sure why that was the first thing to pop into my mind. Perhaps it is because it is in favorite era or because that was such a devastating loss to knowledge. And the point to witness a historical event is to not change anything. So if I am not allowed to ever know what all is inside the library, then I would at least appreciate a good bonfire.
