Bio

Faisal is Technology Entrepreneur, Geek and innovator. He spends time building solution and services with intrinsic social benefits for millions of users. He has lead initiatives in online recruitment, mobiles, disaster mapping, open data, social games and virtual economy domains.

As a geek; he is co-founder at Cogilent Solutions the company that focuses on digital innovation. At BrightSpyre.com, he focuses on online-recruitment; and his work connects 1 million users with opportunities. He is also working on bringing thousands of work opportunities for people with basic computer skills and more than 12 years of education, thus reducing un-employment and increase the income levels in the developing countries through crowd-sourcing opportunities in digital economy.

During 2010 floods in Pakistan, he built a team of 50 volunteers from all over the world and launched pakreport.org. He is building pakreport.org towards disaster and open data mapping company.

He is the first Pakistani to be selected as TED Fellow in 2009 and a Senior TED Fellow in 2010. Faisal was also finalists in $1 million Nokia growth economy venture challenge in 2010 held in UK and finalist in MIT Business acceleration Program in 2008.

He won TED Prize for City 2.0 initiative in 2012.

His worked is covered by Wired UK, Christian Science Monitor, DW TV, BBC and other international medias.

As a researcher his research paper on "Crowdsourcing for Multipurpose and Multicategory Climate related Disaster Reporting" is published by University of Manchester.

Additionally he has lead many surveys and student projects in the area of Human Resources and Computer Science.
