I got rid of my Facebook page and TED became my new hotspot. Needless to say, I'm now much happier and better informed.

  There is such misconception when we talk about society and our world. I think there is a gap between what we think we can accomplish, and it has to start with us being the change we want to see in the world. Self-examination is the only way to truly better the lives we and others live.

• A comment on Conversation: How can i use the internet to help people,bring change, and make a difference?

  Jan 22 2012: There are plenty of internet communities that contribute to helping its citizens. Maybe gear towards a previously established movement if you cannot dedicate to a self-made cause. All change needs people to act, and if you can be that action you will have met your goal. Being in the TED community is a large part of that, perhaps you can embellish on it further.

  Jan 22 2012: John or Hank Green. John is an author, Hank is an entrepreneur, and both are social activists for the "nerd community" or "nerd fighters" (fighting for them, not against them). It's an amazing movement, with the catch phrase of Don't Forget To Be Awesome (DFTBA).

  Jan 1 2012: I completely agree. Using a successful company or individual as a model to prove an idea does not equate it to a sales pitch.

  Dec 23 2011: No joke, I am watching an episode of Law & Order right now where Maz is a peripheral character.

  Dec 20 2011: Humor has amazing healing properties. It can speak truths that cannot be said in any other situation. Think of the Fool in King Lear; he is the only person who can truthfully talk to Lear without being banished, cursed, or alienated. It's the perfect combination of making light of something extremely heavy.
