About Me

I am a Guitarist/Composer/Music Teacher based in London. I achieved a first class degree in my undergraduate BMus Music degree (performance and composition specialised) and a postgraduate MA in Music (musicology). I am currently working on extending my catalogue of library music which can be purchased via contacting me directly or from Resource Sound (www.resourcesound.com). I also compose bespoke music for film, TV and commercials or any other multimedia projects. I work primarily as a session guitarist, capable of playing all styles with great understanding and technical ability. I have experience playing with some of the biggest signed artists such as The Pogues and Skunk Anansie and I am available for recording and live performing in all styles whether on the electric, steel string or classical guitar. I have taught some well established artists such as MTV EMA award winner '2face' and am currently writing my own range of guitar instructional text books. I compose and teach from my private residential studio in Brockley, South East London.

More About Me

I'm passionate about

Debating and sharing ideas.

An idea worth spreading

After watching Benjamin Zander's 'Classical Music with shining eyes' I was left with a feeling of disappointment that people are more concerned about trying to unlock the secrets and mysteries of classical music in order to redeem its popularity rather than addressing the circumstances as to why the genre is losing its relevance in today's world. My idea is that classical music collapsed with the rise of the post-modern movement in art and was doomed to leave behind the repertoire and compositional styles that shaped the collective art form. The introduction of the cinema gave composers a new objection, which shadowed any profundity or significance the music (which would have been categorised as 'Classical') would have been worthy of. Unlike Rembrandt, Beethoven's works cannot be hung on the wall to always be revered as history. They need to be heard to exist, but not many are buying tickets. Why aren't they buying tickets? Because they have iPods.

My TED Story

If this means, how did I find this site, I was watching a presentation on YouTube by Benjamin Zander which led me here. Does that answer it?
