About Me

Hi, I love TED talks and the community on this site. For me its a great way to both learn and share new ideas. I'm very interested in looking at the same thing from many different angles,i believe this is how empathy starts and that empathy is a very important term in our lives,so i think i can both share my own opinions and read others opinions by joining this site :) My passions are psychology, music, philosophy, poetry, art and litreture.Im mostly inspired by Sigmund Freud,Carl Gustav Jung and Amy Lee. Currently I'm a junior at high school and am hoping to study psychology in college :)

An idea worth spreading

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
Delicious Ambiguity.”

Sep 2 2012: Ah...the sleep after we close the alarm...so precious and perfect! ;)
  • A reply on Conversation: Is there a link between insanity and genius?

Sep 2 2012: Yes,I think this works both ways, a genius can be seen as mentally ill which will lead to apprehension and unacceptance towards that person by the community or as you have said, he/she might already be unaccepted by the community thus feeling alone and misunderstood which can meke that person vulnerable to mental illness.

A comment on Conversation: Is there a link between insanity and genius?

Aug 27 2012: I agree with your second question, I think 'insanity' is thinking differently and whats 'normal' is the certain behaviours, feelings ,patterns of thinking and ways of expressing ourselves accepted by the community we live in.So in the end none of these terms actually exist, they are only created by the society. Is there a link between 'insanity' and 'genius' ?,no there is just the courage to actually think outside the box and the frustration of 'normal' people who refuse to accept it,which is why the works, ideas etc.. of many 'geniuses' were appreciated much later on in time.

  • A comment on Conversation: How do YOU escape from your "self"?

Jun 28 2012: Lovely question :) For me its writing( mostly poetry, song lyrics etc...) and trying to look at events, experiences, people etc.. from as many different perspectives as possible,so in the end i escape from only looking out of my own little window.
  • A comment on Conversation: Is it okay to judge people according to their physical Appearance ?

Jun 28 2012: Great question :) In my opinion, definitely not.We seem to be sticking labels to everyone, mostly according to their physical appearance and unfortunately by doing so we are losing the ability to actually 'see' the 'person' underneath those...

A reply on Conversation: Fill in the Blank - What the World needs now is __________ ?

    Jun 28 2012: Hyun,
I agree about your opinions about the society today and how its run with the power of money. However as Colleen has said, the society is made up of people, whom I think we should not try to change but help become aware of their 'own' selves therefore gain more people who actually question the current society along with its norms and rules.By doing so,we will have more people who wont accept money as a weapon of enslavement, willing to change the world into a place where the top priority is the preservation and the evolution of the human race as you have expressed very truthfully in my opinion.

A comment on Conversation: Fill in the Blank - What the World needs now is __________ ?

Jun 26 2012: People who refuse to wear the false masks crafted by the society, genuine people who appreciate differences rather than reject them with blind prejudice...
  • A reply on Talk: Ami Klin: A new way to diagnose autism

Jun 18 2012: Khon,I completely agree with you.In my opinion, there is no such thing as 'normal'.After all,we have criteria to classify some people as 'abnormal',but then how is being 'normal' classified and according to whom? Since this question can be answered in tons of different ways, then we how can we separate people so sharply into these two groups?
