Oct 19 2011: IMHO. in a way nothing is safe online or in a way everything is. Most often it is the end users (we) who usually fail to adhere to the guidelines laden by the manufacturer of a particular product. Moreover, various protective measures are implemented by service providers, but if at all there are flaws in coding of a website or an application and has a back door, fraudsters would try to compromise the loop hole and carry out unethical activities.

Cloud too is no different than that, what can be done to safeguard your existence over the web is to strictly follow the instructions of the service provider.
  • A comment on Conversation: Why are we trying to find a new antidote for tobacco related cancers when we can eradicate the poison!

Oct 19 2011: When we are talking about money, then it definitely is the root cause of most of the problems these days. The governments are indeed aware of the fatal results of tobacco, then why don't they simply ban the products or manufacturing or even the production of tobacco ?, they won't as it generates a large share of revenue for the country. So, who are to be blamed ? Just by adding the lines "Cigarette smoking is injurious to health " on the packet of cigarettes wouldn't make a difference, one can read it only after an individuals buys it. So doesn't that mean you are actually promoting people to buy it to read the lines of caution ?

Everything is interconnected, the damage done is done, imho. if you actually want to bring change target the youths who are yet in a tender stage and waiting for the adulthood soon in 3-4 years. Brainwash them with the serious causes of tobacco and its products, once they develop hatred for this toxin, gradually the consumption would go down hence the production would take a hit as well. Change is not going to happen overnight, its a constant process and only with continued efforts we can see a day when tobacco would be listed in the extinct plant species.
