About Me

About me, I will start off with my name, I am Nikko Scelzo. Though this does not say much about me it is a mere reference for the future. A persons name does not mean anything until you know who they are, if there is nothing to associate with the name then it will most likely not even be remembered. I am a very inquisitive person. There are so many things about the world that intrigues my mind, the best way I would define myself would be as an intellectual. I strive for knowledge. As of recently I have been discovering a plethora of astounding fragments that are a part of our world, this organization being one of them. Just today I was thinking about the problems of society when I feel as though I have come across the true root of the issues we face everyday. I feel that the issue that causes all others is our inability to quantify all possible variables in our world. These are the things that I think about on a daily basis, the things that drive me.

More About Me

I'm passionate about

I am extremely passionate about the journey that is life. I believe that the world is an amazing place and we must all do our part to make it that much better.

An idea worth spreading

There are many thoughts that cross my mind when reading the words "An idea worth spreading." I have many ideas that I wish to share with the world in due time but here is some food for thought. The capabilities of man have proven time and time again to have such vast potential. The problem though is that there are many things that limit our potential and slow it down. Our world is filled with these limits and they are all due to a lack of communication and clarity. If we had more clarity and we used the resources we are exposed to more effectively and efficiently, our rate of growth could be limitless. The mind is one of the few things in existence that is truly perpetual. It is not about what I can do for you nor what you can do for me but about what we all can do for each other because we are all living in this world together so we must work together to make it a better place to live in for everyone.

Talk to me about

Anything, I believe that you can learn from any experience, good or bad.

People don't know that I'm good at

Analyzing situations, finding the interconnectivity between things that may seem very different.

  • A comment on Conversation: I believe the reasons for effective communication is an important idea that should be taught.

Oct 10 2011: Communication happens on many different scales.... but it is everywhere.... simplicity is the key... communication is about transferring your thoughts in a way that you believe to be the easiest for the person you are attempting to communicate with. The problem with this is that many people do not realize that communication requires effort from both the communicator and the communicatee in a sense...communication does not only occur from person to person... it also occurs within ourselves... our body communicates with itself in order to function... when there is miscommunication... is when problems occur... such as illness... or say... tripping...(as in falling not the use of psychoactive drugs) why do we trip? because somewhere along the lines there is miscommunication... it may be the part of your brain that controls your sight not properly communicating with another part that controls your movement say in your legs... and it is not able to properly accommodate for this obstruction...there are many places where miscommunication can occur... within ourselves.... within our environment... life is entirely about communication.... that is what sets the value of everything in our world... and those who are successful in life have a greater ability to communicate... they realize (whether it be consciously or subconsciously) that the more variables you control in a situation the easier it is to achieve a desired outcome... that is why simplicity is key... because it provides you with a greater control... it allows for less misinterpretation.

A reply on Conversation: eradicate punishment from the law system. instead, teach.

Oct 8 2011: Miscommunication is our problem :) people who commit crimes have had improper programming...they have not learned specific lessons that they must learn in order to make these rational decisions...or at least they have not learned the value as such things... like a life... they have not learned that a life is worth more than their simple desires and pleasure.... nobody really knows the true value of a life... because we are not aware of a way to quantify it... so how could we teach it if nobody knows it them self?
  • A reply on Conversation: Is everyone capable of deep intellectual thought?

Oct 8 2011: See but Gisela you are not understanding the concept of communication(which i think Frans states rather clearly)... WITHIN this question....it is your job... as someone who is responding to it... to try to understand what it is that I am considering to be deep thought.... since I am the one who asked the question...you said that you understand the question.. then if you did understand the question and the concept behind communication... and stopped having such a closed mind... then you would not be responding with the same answer over and over...you are responding with what YOU believe is deep thought but the question is about what I define it to be...See now ...i understand that you argue that everyone is not capable of what YOU consider to be deep though...but thats not what the question is asking...it is not asking what deep thought is...if you read some of the other comments you might be able to figure out what it is im saying when i say deep thought...

Oct 8 2011: After i posted about this last night i continued to think about it as i went to sleep... and i was thinking about how society could be better off if we all were raised the exact same way because that (besides from finding a way to link our thoughts) is the only way i can think of to eliminate the clarity issues.... but then this would mean we would all lose ...basically our personalities because i believe that they are a result of all of these factors of life...so its kind of (at least at the moment) and unavoidable issue : maybe thats why it hasn't been solved yet...

Oct 8 2011: See now you are beginning to understand the question I was intending much better... :)
my question was not whether people engage in deep thought it is whether they are capable of it.. many people go through life without even realizing its there it seems... i believe thats possibly what sets the average as average and the others above... is their ability to grasp this ... to be able to see the interconnectivity of the world...
  • A reply on Conversation: Is everyone capable of deep intellectual thought?

Oct 8 2011: communicating and thinking arent really much different.... some just have a problem connecting the dots...what is thinking but just communicating with yourself? with your own thoughts, beliefs, ideas? people hire speech writers because they have that problem of clarity they are not able to get their thoughts across the way they would like to... also terminology is a very important part of speech...because people interpret words differently even when they mean the same thing possibly due to everyday use and societal influence on these words which is why i say clarity is important... and I do agree... we all define these terms... because communication is how we get our thoughts across to one another...and so words are just tools we use to do this...
  • A reply on Conversation: Is everyone capable of deep intellectual thought?

Oct 8 2011: Words are meant for communication...I used the word because it is what the mental illness has been defined as in reference to these people. I do not believe neither person to be at fault for the things that they do, it is merely the way they have interpreted the messages society has given them. It is because of lack of clarity that the lessons that are meant to be taught are not always learned. People retain different lessons from the same situations.

A comment on Conversation: eradicate punishment from the law system. instead, teach.

Oct 8 2011: Well see ... the problem is not with punishment because punishment is meant to teach that something is wrong... teaching in its simplest form... through association... because that is how we learn... it is meant to associate these bad actions that people do with a place or action that people know as negative... though the punishment itself does not always fit because not everyone sees the same things as being negative... though i do agree with the fact that humans do not stop learning and people that do things in reaction to these "elements" as you call them...that lead up to specific events... people fail to make rational decisions based on a variety of elements... these elements relate to how they have interpreted the experiences of their life... what they have learned or... taken away from these experiences... those who commit crimes often do not learn certain basic lessons that are meant to be taught...( also to add onto the beginning part of what I said "punishment is meant to teach a lesson" I do also believe that there are other ways in which a lesson may be taught... some of which may be more effective and I believe that is possibly more so what you are trying to get at)
  • A reply on Conversation: Is everyone capable of deep intellectual thought?

    Oct 8 2011: Hm I like that...
"Think of who created thought, why do you stay in prison when the doors are so wide open?"
I interpret this as a statement that basically promotes insight... it encourages people to think for themselves. when it says think of who created thought, the first thing that came to my mind was myself...because you create thought for yourself... nobody else can teach you to think much like nobody can teach you anything...they can merely shed light upon or nudge you in the proper direction... you must teach yourself... through your experiences...also i believe that this quote as a whole is explaining a lot of what I had been thinking about when I first posted this question... and really captures it well.... if we are all capable of inner-thought ... learning from within ourselves...then why do we allow for such a societal influence without questioning it? I do not believe that being influenced by society is necessarily a bad thing it is the fact that most of the time we do so without even questioning why we are doing the things we do... i think that if people had a better understanding of the things they do it would allow us as a society to become more collective and work together to make the world a better place... but we must clearly be able to communicate... without misinterpretation of our intentions... which I think is where the big problem is...clarity... i have noticed that many conflicts throughout life have been due to lack of clarity...
  • A reply on Conversation: Is everyone capable of deep intellectual thought?

Oct 8 2011: Hm I see well I definitely do not agree with what our society has become, largely run based on money and profit. I think that the rate we consume our resources is incredibly detrimental to our world. We must put more effort into a collective society because we are all apart of the same world... if we do not work together to sustain it then it will eventually collapse...and yes I am not saying that everyone does apply deep intellectual thinking into their everyday decisions my question was is everyone capable of it... it is extremely relevant that we do not apply it to every decision that we make though because if that were the case then all of our decisions would include us being able to quantify every variable and properly evaluating these situations to make rational decisions... but I am not sure if that is even possible to apply this deep thinking to every decision that must be made... since all decisions do have limits... and some of these decisions must be made in such short periods of time...and we are not able to quantify a value of all variables in every situation... similar to an example i made before... about morals... and determining the value of a life... is one persons life worth more than another? is a childs life worth more than an adult? we often see this as being the case because the child did not get a chance to live yet.but how many adult lives is that childs life worth? 1? 10? 100? at what age does someone life become less important? what if one of these people are the next world genius... and how would we know? these are all stemmed from clarity...we do not know the answer to these questions...
