Amy Hecht serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. In this role, Amy oversees Student Involvement, Greek Life, Student Conduct, Residence Life, Division Initiatives, Student Media, and Assessment and Evaluation.
A professional in the field of student affairs since 2001, Amy has served on executive leadership teams within student affairs organizations and has extensive experience leading and managing in higher education. She is a Lead Facilitator with LeaderShape, a national, non-profit organization and held a national leadership position with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators’ (NASPA) Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community. Currently, Amy serves as a board member for the Alabama State NASPA organization and the AU Women's Resource Center. Amy is passionate about leadership development and gender equity, in particular the need for college women to develop and practice their leadership skills to be prepared to positively contribute to a global society.
Amy earned her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University in mass communications and completed her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Pennsylvania. Amy is currently completing her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in Higher Education Administration. Her dissertation is focused on Organizational Learning.
