Jan 22 2012: I have to somewhat agree, are we taking an organism that already lives in a already polluted environment essentially immune to organophosphates and numerous other harmfull chemicles, and providing a way to grow it faster? In a sterile environment and then train the plant to a fast reproduction stage back to the ability to grow fast in a polluted environment.
How about adding pollutants by using "fresh" seawater and if it does not grow, find out what is killing it... Lead? Zinc? And remove this first, or am I just dreaming.
