Knowledge must be free (or gratis, if telling "free beer" apart from "free speech"). It does'nt mean one has to disclose billion-worth blueprints of a complicated electronic device, but nothing should prevent anybody from learning how to develop such a thing and to get one's own set of such blueprints - for free.

A comment on Conversation: What is the difference between having emotions and expressing them?
I'd say, there is just a slight difference between the emotions kept and expressed. The ones you hide usually sustain themselves for a longer time, since you can't just leave them out. Expressing emotions, otherwise, may amplify their intensity but cut down their duration.

Your theses are unarguable. Building a multicultural society should be based on repect of privacy, and those seven goals you told about. Applied to the concept of US being a place to leave to for all the refugees and prosecuted people, it gives us a statement like "There's no better price to buy the freedom, than giving others a chance to be free, too".
