More About Me

I'm passionate about

Child and Youth Issues on Development, Psychology, Education and Health

An idea worth spreading

Men, women, children, youth, should have access on information especially to Reproductive Health and Rights in order to protect, to enjoy, and to make decision on their own body.
All international instruments (CRC and ICPD) guarantee that all the children, without discrimination, entitled the right for information and health in all matter including in Sexuality and Reproductive Health (SRH). ICPD plus Five also concerned about adolescents’ rights to sexual and reproductive health information, especially sex education. It was stated that SRH must begin in primary school and continue through all levels of education (UNFPA, 2002).
Yet, the international goal still face difficulty to be filled because the Sex Edu still be seen as taboo topic. Therefore, it fails to fullfill the right for information of Boys and Girls. The effects are teenage pregnacy, sex abuse and violence, drugs, HIV amongs Children and Youth. By TED, i want to spread the idea to support the realisation of ICPD +5.

Sep 26 2011: i agree with equality, so for me as a woman, i choose to sat at the back because it is more relaxing. if you see this as inequality, you are wrong. Many of my female friends wanted to sat at the back. The front chair is only for those who have trouble (behavior, eyes, small body) to see the board). I feel sorry if you can see other beauty side of the story.

Sep 26 2011: I agree with you.. .at my time (70th) in Southest Asia, the small children sit in front regarless the sex. so a small girl sat with small boy in front so they can see better (imagine the room is not U shaped).. and the one whose terrible eyes should also sit infront to help them see better.. so nothing to do with inequality.. for some cultute, boys sit in front because they are playfull in the class so teacher ask them to sit at the front.. ooh one more, kids tends to sit at the back.. because it is more relaxing than sit infront of teacher..

A comment on Talk: Abraham Verghese: A doctor's touch

Sep 26 2011: i remember my time 10 years back from now where i lived in a remote area at Sumbawa island. There was a one famous doctors who had more than 50 patients at night. In order to save time, he asked more than 2 patients to come in his room and made them stand in a line and he started to question them one by one in front of other patient. I felt it violate the ethic in terms of confidentiality. But i was so suprised that many people accepted his methode and always back to see him in the future. Where is the human touch??? I was thinking maybe he did that because he was overloaded, have to save time so people would not wait to long, or i dont know... for some people, they can accept that practice... I think to be able to sit with the patient and really listen to them by heart, you need some time. Work pressure, people pressure, and hospital pressure like we had now, made us hardly have time to do that especially when there is not many doctors around in remote area.
  • A comment on Talk: Jamie Oliver's TED Prize wish: Teach every child about food

Aug 29 2011: i am 100 % agree of his brillian idea. Give the right information to kids about everything in this case is about food they are taken every day. By giving the right information, those kids can decide , later on, what is best for their own body. We adult should support this and i hope goverment can take a serious action because labelling and permission and etc is them who release.. If money involve, thousand will suffer from the label on food can or box...the big problem for people live in the city is that they dont have a garden to plant healthy food raw, so we depend on the local market that provide the things we need. So we need to be taught not only how to cook it but also to select a good material from the market in order to make a healthy food.
