My name is Liam and I am a high school student. I am very much concerned for the many people of the world, and have already at a young age devoted my life to help people find adequate resources to be able to prosper and thrive. I have been described as a communist, a socialist, and even an anarchist, but most of all I like to think I represent the little guy, the man in society who's voice is not heard. Although I'm not particularly wealthy, I've gone to private school my entire life and received a solid education. In my years in a predominantly rich white catholic school, I've seen the disdain that many of my peers look upon people of a lower economic or social class. Anyone that is not a straight, rich, white, white collar individual is inherently wrong, and does not deserve the chance to be heard. I often argue with my teachers and fellow students about issues such as social welfare, and imperialism. Although born in the United States I do not bleed red white and blue, and refuse to go to war or even support wars that I view as unjust. Swearing complete allegiance to a country that often commits heinous crimes against it's own citizens and foreign individuals seems wrong and even sinful to me. I consider myself a christian and, along with school and sports attempt to spend at least part of one day a week at an organization that helps people in need. I'm hoping to go to college some place where my ideas about democracy and human rights are actually valued and not looked upon as foreign.
