An idea worth spreading

Our world is out of balance. There is just too much evil ... yes there is ... alas ... and what the world needs is not someone to blame it on - but someone to take it away. I KNOW that Jesus came to take our burdens and give us peace and true life. Do you? This world needs an injection of goodness and in one way or another I take responsibility to administer it. Do you? I cannot do it alone - I need you! Jesus is with us but who are we? Let's ignore the barriers of man and look to Jesus to isnpire us and reveal us the way to change this world for the better. This is not cliche - take faith in those words and you will find a meaning that can change lives. With faith we can change the world. Shall we?

Thank you for that comment. Wow I feel exactly the same way and try to live like that. I guess it is because i was one of those less fortunate people spiritually that now I focus mostly helping with that kind of trouble.

I think Sanket idea is great and the way you develop it is even better :) and maybe the fact that you encourage him and care about it in general is the best part:) If that kind of spirit prevails in TED I would truly be happy to share and not feel afraid;) 10x Also I think that Sanket had in mind something really global and we are paving the way to something like that as we saw recently how the very simple fact that the world is more connected even with only to social websites can help people brake free from dictators and brake free from manipulative and paid media influences.

Dear Mr. Campbell thank you for your input in the middle paragraph. I believe that is the most valuable part of it. This debate is not to impose anything on anyone - just to see the way people understand spirituality. I for one am very curious to talk about that with people from different countries, religions and understandings. So please refrain from making any negative inputs and implications, which are also not in turn with the topic.

I wondered myself the same thing. when I come to think of it, we often encounter such things in life . Often the existance of such hard to explain things like the spirit of man, are proven by the very fact that what we know is not enough to explain what is around us - therefore we understand there is something we don't know that is at work. Take for instance that very recent article from Popular Science magazine that is an example of the same thing. http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011-09/fermilab-we%E2%80%99ll-establish-whether-higgs-exists-or-not-september-30 What I believe is that spirituality is there and we do feel and observe it all the time and put even more accurately - we do feel and observe THROUGH it. We just don't recognize it as such. Do you mind telling us how do you see spirituality, as the idea of the debate is gathering different points of view and enriching our understanding of this a bit abstact topic.

That is a great question Allan (if I may). I believe man's spirituality is not part of any religion but a part of the very person. There are so many different understandings. Maybe that is why it is so hard to talk about this topic and be sure you are on the right track. From my experience I believe that just as our natural bodies and our mental abilities it develops as we grow older. Spiritual freedom is of importance just as great as physical freedom and as James Kindler said, it is to be celebrated. I am a Christian but I have become that as a way of escaping serious spiritual problems - it was my remedy. I would not otherwise have become one. I have become aware about many things that helped me recover in the church which changed my way of seeing things and I learned better after that and grew more confident in my spirit I would say. With this conversation I would like to see other people's beliefs and understandings about our spirit and how to keep it healthy and free. There is always something to learn and I enjoy sharing my own experience.
