TED Associate Members are part of a year-round TED experience that includes conference DVDs, our famed TED Book Club mailings and other special touches that feed your curiosity and help you spread ideas.
As an associate member, you can:
+ Watch a live stream of the conference. As an Associate Member, you can join an exclusive, password-protected, single-computer webcast of the TED2010 or TEDIndia conference, live, as it unfolds. You'll see the full sessions, including introductions, short talks, musical performances, video interstitials and audience interactions that aren't shown on the web. Of course, you'll also see TED's famous 18-minute talks before the rest of the world. Note: To watch the webcast, you'll need a computer system and internet connection that meet minimum requirements. Please review webcast requirements here.
+ Share the webcast with your friends. As an Associate Member, you're allowed to hold a noncommercial screening of the live webcast with up to 10 of your friends, family and colleagues. This is the perfect way to bring inspiration to your community or business. Note: You can't sell tickets or commercialize the screening in any way.
+ Relive the conference on DVD. Three months after the conference, you'll receive a beautiful boxed set of archival conference DVDs. The unedited footage is shot by award-winning Hollywood directors of photography, and is not available anywhere else. It offers a complete record of all the astonishing talks, world-flipping ideas and great unveilings. They're yours to keep (or share).
+ Receive TED Book Club mailings. Five times a year, a package of inspired books, CDs, DVDs and/or other treats will arrive at your doorstep. (Because curiosity happens more than once a year.) Past books have included An Inconvenient Truth, The Earth From Above, Predictably Irrational, What Matters, The Black Swan, The Bottom Billion. The Happiness Hypothesis, The Long Tail and The Invention of Hugo Cabret. We've also sent music from TED performers Herbie Hancock, Jill Sobule and Vusi Mahlasela, and DVDs such as Deborah Scranton's The War Tapes and Jehane Noujaim's Control Room.
+ Receive an exclusive, Associates-only welcome kit. This year's kit includes many can't-get-elsewhere TED goodies: a double-sided wall poster featuring two inspiring quotations by TED stars, a few (secret) complimentary treats from TED's partners, a set of crisp, gorgeous postcards featuring the most memorable TED stage moments, a stainless steel TED logo key fob, a purse-sized TED viewing diary and a DVD of some of the best TEDTalks ever -- all wrapped in a stylish, minimalist mini-binder. (Not even TED attendees get this fabulous kit!)
+ Enjoy special privileges. For the 12 months of your membership, you'll get special status on the TED.com social network so you can easily find and connect with other TED Associate Members.
+ Cut in line. You'll be notified ahead of the general public about applying to register for TED events, so you can be among the very first. Note: Membership is subject to approval and we have far more applicants than spaces, so not everyone's application will be approved.
