TEDx Events For hosts: Designing your event > Inviting guests

Curating your attendees is just as important as curating your event's on-stage content: Your guests have the power to carry "ideas worth spreading" out into the world.

Deciding who attends

To simplify the selection process, ask prospective attendees to fill out an application form. Their effort here will show their commitment to participating in your event. We recommend you build your application form using Google Forms. Your attendee application should include a clear description of TED, TEDx and your TEDx event.

Application form questions: Your application form should include fields such as ...

+ Date:
+ First name:
+ Last name:
+ Company/organization:
+ Job title/ role:
+ Email address:
+ Address:
+ Phone:
+ Skype:
+ Tell us about yourself.
+ List some of your lifetime achievements.
+ List up to three web links that will help us understand you better.
+ What do you hope to get from this TEDx event?

Keep your attendees in the loop

Make clear to your attendees what they should expect: your event's size, location, theme, and whether you'll be featuring live speakers or only pre-recorded TEDTalks.

Communicate to your attendees how important their feedback is. Tell them you want them to fill out a feedback form after your event. Explain that TED wants to know what is working and what is not.
