TED: Ideas worth spreading
TED is devoted to giving millions of knowledge-seekers around the globe direct access to the world's greatest thinkers and teachers. If you'd like to help us, there are many ways you can do this:
1. Share your favorite talks, speakers and themes with other people -- via email, Digg, Twitter, Facebook, Del.icio.us ... There's a link on each Talk page that makes it easy to spread knowledge!
2. Join the conversation. TEDTalks are enhanced by the ideas and the conversations that they spawn. Help us by adding your own carefully-thought-out comments to our discussion pages on TED.com. Or start a conversation on your favorite sharing site.
3. Host a TED session at work or at school around a topic that you're working on. Set aside 30 minutes during a lunch break and ...
+ Invite some colleagues
+ Show one talk that might inspire out-of-the-box thinking
+ Follow it with a conversation
4. Host a TED salon at home. This is a great way to connect with friends and neighbors.
+ Invite half a dozen people around for an evening
+ Plan a series of three talks from a theme that interests you
+ Curate the conversation that follows, to encourage genuine discussion as opposed to insistent opinion
5. If you're a teacher, consider incorporating TEDTalks into your classes. TEDTalks are distributed under a Creative Commons license, and are freely available for such use, so long as you credit the source and do not distort the speakers' intended meaning.
6. If you have a blog, website, or Facebook page, consider posting a TEDTalk each week and adding your own comment or angle. You can easily embed TED's video player inside your blog; click the red "Share" button below the player window to find the code. Or post a link on Facebook. It's an easy way to add substantive content to your online conversations.
7. If you'd like to see these talks made available to more people, you could consider a contribution to the foundation that owns TED. Please contact us.
8. If you work for a media company or a technology company, and believe you could help us spread this content to the world, please write to us with your suggestion. We're willing to make the content freely available if the proposal is a good one. Please contact us and give as many details as you can.
9. If you'd like to subtitle or translate TEDTalks, please contact us for more details. You could end up inspiring people around the world. Watch for news on this topic coming soon!
10. If you do any of the above with exciting results, tell us about it. Others can learn from your experience. Please contact us.
Thank you for helping to spread great ideas!
