In 2012, for the first time ever, the TED Prize went not to an individual, but to an idea on which our planet's future depends: the City 2.0. Coinciding with the TEDCity2.0 anchor event, TEDxCity2.0 is an initiative in the spirit of TEDxYouthDay, TEDxChange and TEDxWomen.
TEDxCity2.0
On September 20th, 2013, the TEDx platform will harness the power of people across the globe to encourage them to host a TEDx event featuring the local innovators, organizers, stewards and builders of their cities, called TEDxCity2.0 events.
Speakers may focus on official City 2.0 themes, including Art, Education, Food, Health, Housing, Play, Public Space, and Safety -- all elements whose presence will dictate the success of our future cities. Events may also include one or more sessions of TEDCity2.0 -- the TED-hosted event coinciding with the TEDxCity2.0 initiative.

The following additional guidelines apply as well as the standard TEDx rules:
License
A TEDxCity2.0 event must occur on September 20th, 2013. A TEDxCity2.0 license expires immediately after the event happens, and can only occur on September 20th, 2013.
Spirit/purpose
Your TEDxCity2.0 event must maintain the spirit of TED itself: cross-disciplinary, focused on the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.
Naming
If you are a first-time TEDx licensee, the official name of your event is TEDx(LocationName): we consider locations as city, town, neighborhood and street names. Themed and regional names do not qualify. Existing TEDx licensees should use their existing TEDx license name. (e.g. "TEDxAmsterdam", not "TEDxAmsterdamCity")
Logo
The logo of your TEDx event should reflect whichever name applies to your event. (e.g. "TEDxAmsterdam")
Website
If you have an existing TEDx licensees present information about your TEDxCity2.0 type event on a page on your existing website, and use existing web properties to promote the event. If this is your only event, create dedicated web properties -- Facebook, website, Twitter -- that reflect the proper name of your event, eg "TEDxStPetersburg".
Positioning
We have created TEDxCity2.0 buttons and banners which you should use on your site. You will receive these assets with your license qpporoval.
Besides the standard "About TED/About TEDx" text, include the following copy wherever there is information on your TEDxCity2.0 type event:
