The Standard Event type is applicable to the majority of TEDx events. It should be your choice if the other options don't fit the event you plan to organize.

About Standard Events

The Standard Event license allows you to host one TEDx event not exceeding a single day in length. A Standard Event may be large or small, but its features must fall within the TEDx rules.

Over the 12-month period that a license for a Standard Event remains active -- during which you may organize only one event -- you'll be the sole owner of the unique TEDx name you provide in your application. You'll be permitted to apply to renew this license after your event is complete, or you can allow it to expire (releasing the event name for other organizers to use).

A record of your event will remain visible on this website after the license's expiration, but you'll need to give up domain names and other properties associated with the unique name.

About Level 2

The Level 2 license is a special type of TEDx license available only to TEDx licensees who meet the criteria.

In order to qualify, you must have held a TEDx license for at least two years, attended an official TED conference, have hosted at least 2 events for over 100 people and have had a talk from your event featured on TED.com, among other criteria

Applied to a current TEDx license and name, a Level 2 license grants exclusive privileges for the ticket price, duration, format and distribution of one TEDx event.

Eligible organizers are invited to apply for Level 2. More about Level 2 »
