“I wish that you would help with the creation, launch and propagation of a Charter for Compassion, crafted by a group of leading inspirational thinkers from the three Abrahamic traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam and based on the fundamental principles of universal justice and respect.”
Engage diverse religious communities to collaborate and write a Charter for Compassion, with the Golden Rule at its ethical core. Bring a voice to the Charter and spread it worldwide by using social media, encouraging cities to adopt the Charter, and distributing physical copies of the Charter to showcase in secular and religious spaces.

The Council of Conscience composed the Charter for Compassion in 2009. The Fetzer Institute helped translate the Charter into more than 30 languages. The Charter team and its partners are now bringing to Charter to life through a global movement that includes a Compassionate Cities Campaign, the Compassionate School Network in Pakistan and a Dutch Compassion Award that will focus on media in 2013.
