THE WISH

SETILive

“I wish that you would empower Earthlings everywhere to become active participants in the ultimate search for cosmic company.”

THE PLAN

Assemble a group of engineers to advise on and create an online system to facilitate mass collaboration and incorporate innovative data processing methods, including the ability to input alternative search algorithms. Tap into the power of open-source initiatives to globalize the search for extra-terrestial intelligence and empower a new generation of SETI enthusiasts.

CURRENT STATUS

In 2012, SETI launched SETILive, a citizen science project, allowing over 74,000 volunteers to search through data streaming live from the Allen Telescope Array (ATA). SETI also collaborated in the 'Are We Alone?' month with the Science Channel, and replaced existing receivers on the ATA with a new design that will more than double the sensitivity of the array.

THREE THINGS YOU CAN DO

  1. Become part of the Search and show your support by becoming a SETIStar.
  2. Stay in touch with the SETI Institute.
  3. The ultimate search requires the best tools, ideas, and technology. Support SETI!
