How can transition to Green Economy be made seemless and what benefits will green cities have on the global and local economy?

I will be addressing the Economic and Social Council of Model United Nations on the need to Green the Economics of Cities for the Sustainable Development of the City. And would like to know how Green Economy would benefit the global economy and how the Greening of the Cities can improve the local/national economy which will eventually lead to sustainable development of first the Cities and the World at large

    Jan 26 2012: As far as I see it, transition to a Green Economy needs the Industry to be receptive towards Greener ideas, which need to be more viable from an economic perspective. The role of Industry needs to shift from being a mere demand-supply difference engine to the prime motivator towards a greener, safer tomorrow.
