How would you contribute to actively stop forced prostituion and sex slavery?

I've insvetigating about sex related crimes such as childpornography, child prostitution, forced prostitution, and sex slavery, and sadly what I find out is that many societies (specially focusing in low developed countries) actually have laws and legislations that criminalize these felonies but even that such crimes still happening with alarmingly high rates. So what I'm hoping you to answer is what can of actions can we put in practice to stop these atrocities?
I understand that we should have laws and legistations that criminalize these acts but I'd appeciate that your suggestion focus in actions that have a real impact in global societies not only law books and courthouses.

Jan 19 2012: I'm going to say something that's going to sound contradictory: Legalize it. Just like with drugs, if you let people provide a service legally, then nobody will see the point in taking the risk of going for illegal prostitution, even if its noticeably cheaper. If you legalize it, you can control it.

edit: I guess I wasn't the first to suggest it, Xavier beat me to it.

Jan 18 2012: Start a website or blog with stories by rescued sex slaves that features a map where such slavery is most prevalent. Dealing with criminals directly is too dangerous, but making governments aware of the problem is very accessible to the average citizen with a computer.

When you make something illegal you simply drive it underground, and its this underground existence that allows the likes of Pimps and human traffickers to thrive.
Making it legal would allow such females to work freely of their own accord in safer environments. This would make it significantly less likely for forced prostitution and sex slavery to exist. Its not a complete fix for all issues, but an ideal step-1 if anything,
