What is the hardest lesson you've learnt in life?

Our parents and elders are forever trying to stop us from making mistakes by telling us what is right for us and what they have learnt in life! What has been the hardest lesson to learn through trial and error? What is the one mistake that changed who you are?

    Jan 15 2012: Lesson: There are NO scraps of MEN! People try hard to teach the opposite.
    Mistake: Speaking too much ... I'm still learning to control that.
    Considering WAYS ... I just want to say that there is just ONE WAY: YOURS! No one will live YOUR life for you or take the blame for YOUR mistakes. You just have to learn and grow on YOUR own and listen to others more.
