What is the one thing that you would want your children to learn about life?

The question seemed interesting to me, and you can tell your any answers

  • Jan 4 2012: Teach them love. The showing of love in one's life is powerful for all relationships. Love is patient, kind, and tolerant and allows others to see good. It spreads as it heal relationships, improves life over all. A lot of commentary could be added here on the benefits of people learning to love one another.
    • Jan 4 2012: Hi Mark,

I commented, then scrolled down, and here you are. I very much agree with you.

      Mary
      • Jan 4 2012: I totally agree, Mark. In fact, love ,in all its forms, is the fundamental thing in life. Not the only thing , of course...but, the fundamental thing. Loving people come from loving homes. People often inquire, "What is love, anyways?" I can't, nor can many, give an absolute defintion. However, I do respond by saying I know loving behaviour when I see it and I know loving attitudes when I encounter them. And, they are usually forced to agree.
        • Jan 6 2012: Thank you Mary and James. I stand in great need to learn and experience more of giving love and receiving love. I married a woman raised in a loving home; she learned more in her childhood than I did. In more than 6 decades I am just now realizing love is the most powerful force in the Cosmos.

Love is relating and the higher level of love, the deeper feeling and motivating factor from it, the better relationship we experience. Love even causes a person to stay focused on valuing persons and even cause one to lay down his life for another. Love improves all relationships. This world needs real love as defined by divinity. Can't say enough good about it. And can't learn enough about it. Love devours sin, erases hurt, drives one to unusual "second mile" service. And more.
          Peace to all.
  • Jan 4 2012: That regardless of how rude people are, or how they try to make you feel inferior and drown your voice, you should still love them. This is because a human being who has not been loved is capable of doing many terrible things to you. And your love towards them can change them for the better.
