One of the websites I like and would like to share with others is:_______

There are almost 350,000,000 websites lying on the internet. This makes it hard for people to get to great websites.
I didn't know about this great website , TED!! I got here in an accidental way!!
I believe that there are many other useful websites that many of us don't know about. Is there any useful website that you would like to share with others?
If yes, please provide a link and a brief description about it.

Jan 3 2012: It takes a while to get the hang of it. You have to click on one of the faces, then the image magnifies. You hear the person speaking their native tongue, however you choose the language subtitle of your choice. There is a series of questions that the people are asked, there is a separate vignette for each question.
Overall, the upside of this page, is that you get to see the perspective of life in each persons part of the world. I thoroughly enjoyed the interviews, many are very emotional, while others are very funny. Two particular elderly women from Canada make a very strong point on the injustices they lived while young.

I found it very insightful. Could your computer have a problem downloading the page?

The Biomimicry Institute is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the study and imitation of nature’s remarkably efficient designs, bringing together scientists, engineers, architects and innovators who can use those models to create sustainable technologies. The Biomimicry Institute offers short-term workshops and two-year certificate courses in biomimicry for professionals, and helps to develop and share biomimicry-related curricula used in a range of educational venues, from K-12 classrooms to universities, as well as in non-formal settings such as zoos and museums. The Biomimicry Institute does not conduct its own research; rather, it serves as a clearinghouse and resource for those who do.

      Dec 15 2011: Great idea!!
''Join the movement, and Share That1Thing, your Life! '' -- this sentence is directed to the wrong person. I don't share my name/age/ address on the web.
I can be an observer, but contributing to the page... i don't think so

Dec 15 2011: We dont require or ask for your age or address, even your name is optional. Participants have the option to remain anonymous. We understand that everyone is, and will not be a contributor. All we ask is for, those who understand the magnitude of their life experiences, Share it. Thanks for being an observer and we hope that you have found That1Thing you were created for and are sharing it with the world.

Dec 14 2011: is decent, though I definately sense they have a bit more of an agenda than TED. Michio Kaku posts on there, he's sharp. not only shows one of the funniest shows on television, but off and on it has a really great cross section of forum posters. I'm stoked about, though i haven't got my beta invite yet, you may have just seen that TED video, translating the web for free, by teaching people foreign language... brilliant., though I'm sure almost everyone knows project gutenberg (free digital copies of all books in the public domain).

Dec 15 2011: David, thank you for sharing these websites.
I liked!! It has many creative ideas. another taste for TED's aim.

I added gutenberg to my favorites. I'll use kindle to read ebooks, after getting one. LEDs put too much strain on the eyes :-( LED screens on laptops suck!!
I'll start with 'The paradox of choice', Barry schwartz. I have it lying on my desktop!!

Dec 14 2011: My wife's non-profit organization. She is trying to create a viable anti-venin to combat snake (cobras, Russel's vipers, etc.) bites in Sri Lanka:

Check her site out and contribute if you can. Very worthwwhile and will help the Sri Lankan people.

Dec 15 2011: Although I hate reptiles, I liked this website. Great project :-)
Thinking about venom generated for me this idea: If we are capable of genetically modifying plants and animals, why don't we try to genetically produce similar species of these snakes that have no venom, so snake bites won't harm people and still preserve the environment.
Thank you for your participation :)
