Analog vs Digital: Why do the written words on paper remain a such great importance in the 21 century?

Dear Ted Users,

everything has changed! users become Broadcaster, consumer becomes producer and analog became digital. Still these words count: "Who writes that remains!"

Why do the written words on paper remain a such great importance in the 21 century? Why is the writing of a letter or a postcard in the digital world more valuable than ever?

I would be very interested in your opinions!

Thank you for your interesting approaches

Dec 12 2011: Handwriting is now an art form. It feels like a physical link between thoughts and language.

It is fraught with that most wondrous of human talents: imperfection. This is something that will become more and more valuable as the world continues to be designed by machines and people that think like machines.

In terms of writing for the purposes of administration, the only thing keeping paper alive is tradition (although, in the context of bureaucracy, I would call it habit).

Dec 9 2011: I will watch the link you posted ..

I really resonate with your question.

I recently found a whole bunch of really beautiful foutain pens in a drawer and all of a sudden really missed ink on beautiful paper. I happened to have my fountain pen with me at Thanksgiving and was asked to do name cards for the planned seating which I did with my pen on good paper..it touched everyone

.It is lost and gentle art to write a beuatiful letter with a pen containing real ink (not a ball point) on handsome paper. I resolve to do that as often as possible. It feel grace-full and civilized.
