Dec 9 2011: i really wish we could talk to the speakers. im certain TED attendees have a private website just like this one. i wish we could at least see their conversations. becuase i dont like spending so much time on here but im always learning so many new things i cant resist reading people's responses and even occationally making a comment. there are a few people here that thrive by shutting other people down, i feel thats unfortunate. perhaps you could be an editor so that more of our great thinkers will come back

perhaps when you were solely focused on neurosurgery, that was just a matter of context. when comparing neurosurgery to a certain group of other professions and ideas neurosurgery was undoubtedly what you wanted, now after experiencing other's ideas and lifes work, maybe you realize neurosurgery will allow you to express yourself more fully. maybe through stem cells youll be more hands-on, more experiments, and lower stress. perhaps it allows you more room to grow and express yourself. maybe youll be able to impact more people, and perhaps youll discover that a breakthrough in regenerative medicine has an impact on all other fields of study. as a kid i always wanted to be a "brain surgeon" as i called it. but i think for me, being a surgeon wasnt worth the risk. a steady hand is easily lost through old age, an accident, trauma etc. it takes a differnet type of passion to be a surgeon, apparently a type i dont have. for me, i decided i wouldnt want to work hard for 12 hours a day to save one persons life, when i could just as easily own a hospital and employ other doctors and save maybe 4 or 7 lives in a days work. in my opinion being a surgeon is a very honorable job. but there are other areas of science where you could much easier leverage your time and have a great time doing it! i think regenerative medicine is one of those fields. do whats right for you

Dec 8 2011: I'm currently living my dream job.
It is hard to explain that in 2000 characters only.

I quit my boring job as a Security IT Architect in order to follow my dreams.
And it could only work, and it work ; not because I have strong plans and a lot of money, but because listening me deeply, I couldn't be wrong.
