Dec 10 2011: For most of my life I haven't had an answer to "What is your favorite movie?" Until I saw Fight Club. Hands down best movie I have ever seen. It makes you truly rethink your life and everything you value. Wonderful insight on society. Everyone should watch it!

  • Dec 8 2011: by far, the most interesting movies I saw (and I saw a LOT) were

    "Innocence" (2004) (
"Samurai X: Reflection" (North American release, original name is "Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection") (2001) (

the second movie is dubbed in English, but I strongly recommend watching it with subtitles
in my opinion, English voice acting in most Japanese animated movies is just not right
  • Dec 8 2011: Intermission (2003)
    The Usual Suspects (1995)
The Good the Bad the Weird (2008)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
    The Guard (2011)
  • Dec 8 2011: This is an impossible question! However, it is one I love. Film for me is one of my great adventures. So, here are mine:

    Animated: Toy Story 3
    Adventure: Pirates of the Caribbean
    Western: The Unforgiven
To teach people cultural awareness: (a tie) The Mission; Amistad
    Sci-Fi: Star Wars Episode 5
    Drama: Casablanca
    Love Story: The African Queen
    War: Glory
    Sports: The Natural

Ok, all of these are my first choices, I could write at least 5-6 in each category. I love reading on TED what people think about this question. Anybody out there...please respond to mine!

    Thanks Alisa

Dec 7 2011: My favourite isn't a movie, but rather a television show.

I like the way that they take science-fantasy (appears to be scientific, but breaks the rules of science or physics), and attempt to turn it into science-fiction (not yet occurred, but theoretically possible).
